Welcome to South Wigston High School 

A very warm welcome to South Wigston High School, a proud member of the Learning without Limits Academy Trust. 

South Wigston High School is a special place to learn. Our learners, colleagues, families and wider community have worked together to create a school full of ambition, warmth and a genuine sense of belonging. At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: every young person deserves to be known, valued and cared for, while being challenged and supported to achieve their very best. 

Our 2026 Ofsted inspection recognised the significant transformation of our school, describing South Wigston as a “positive environment underpinned by a culture of care and respectful relationships” and recognising that our learners are at the centre of the decisions we make. Ofsted also described South Wigston as a “kind and compassionate school community”, where learners have an increased sense of belonging and are increasingly proud of their school.  

We are incredibly proud that our work has received significant external recognition. We are an IQM Centre of Excellence, our Trauma-Informed Practice has been recognised as an Area of Excellence by Challenge Partners, and we are proud recipients of the Parent Friendly Schools Award and national recognition through the School Games Impact Awards. These achievements reflect the commitment of the whole of Team South Wigston and the exciting journey our school continues to make. 

Our DNA of Ambition, Determination and Respect is much more than a set of words,  it is who we are. It shapes the way we learn, the way we treat one another and the aspirations we have for every young person who walks through our doors. 

There is a real sense of pride, positivity and momentum at South Wigston. Our school continues to move forward, expectations continue to rise and opportunities for our learners continue to grow.
